HIGH MASTS/ RAILOW MASTS/ APOLLO LIGHTS

DESIGN AND SPECIFICATIONS

  • The mast will be designed in accordance with SANS 0225.
  • The mast will be manufactured to ISO 9001: 2015.
  • The masts are Hot Dip Galvanised to SANS 121 / SABS 1461.
  • All poles are manufactured from Grade GW355J HT steel and is manufactured in accordance with SANS 657/1&3.
  • All designs, (developed, designed and signed by a registered Professional Engineer) are available on request

APPLICATIONS

  • RAILOW MASTS, also known as APPOLO MASTS, are designed for ease of maintenance, especially under restricted conditions.
  • The headframe of the masts where the lights are mounted on are designed to be lowered by means of a power tool and electric/hydraulic winch to ground level for maintenance and servicing without needing the servicing and maintenance personnel to climb up the masts

THE STRUCTURE

  • The mast is octagonal in shape continuously tapered and assembled by means of slip joints as per engineers specification with a base plate secured by holding down bolts to the mast foundation.
  • The masts sections are secured into place by means of slip joints.
  • The Headframe is fitted on the top section and secured by means of a slip joint
  • Access [Rectangular shape] door is placed and accessible at the bottom section.
  • The door is secured with a tamper proof screw.
  • Electrical distribution board is mounted inside the access door.
  • A Bracket is built into the masts to securely mount the portable winch which is then operated by a power tool to lower the headframe to ground level to service the lights and perform maintenance Access [Rectangular shape] door is placed and accessible at the bottom section.
  • The door is secured with a tamper proof screw.
  • Electrical distribution board is mounted inside the access door.
  • The trailing cable is plug into the distribution board and is connected to the IP65 splitter box attached to the headframe.
  • Flexible cables are used for the connection between the floodlights and the IP65 splitter box.
  • The photocell is mounted at the lower section above the access door to control the on/off switch of the floodlights.
